Richmond Middle School Principal’s Corner

Parents received an email from the Richmond School Principal today telling us that the weekly email format from last year was too cumbersome, so now everything would be put on a website.

The new site turns out to be a stock theme from Google, with no mention of where it is based, and indeed no link back to the actual Richmond Middle School site.  It’s great that the school staff are experimenting with new technology, but it would be better if there was a bit more planning and oversight.

The Richmond School site itself is frame-based static html.  This means that it is not possible to bookmark any page, nor are any feeds available for you to track updates on the web site.

At present, various teachers use different technologies:

A bunch of teachers are using Moodle: http://dev.dresden.us/moodle

O’Brien (Grade 7 Science) : http://mrobrien.edublogs.org/

Madory: http://www.rmsspanish.com

Unity in Diversity: unity.richmondmiddleschool.org
